Celebrating father’s day? Or just want to show a thumbs up for the best dad any other day of the year (you can also do this with a fancy trophy card).
Well we’ve designed a brand new card that’s pretty sweet as it pops out!
How to Make a Father’s Day Thumbs Up Card
What you need
- our printable card template (along with optional hand outline)
- heavier print paper in white (or cream)
- paper in color (regular print paper is perfect, construction paper works too)
- scissors
- glue
Step by Step Tutorial
Print out the card template on white heavier print paper. We have both the pre-colored and black and white version available which kids can color with their favorite colors.
You’ll also need a hand outline. You can have the kids trace their own hands (fingers spread widely) on the paper or use the hand outline template that we inluded.
The template can be found at the end of this tutorial.
Cut out both the card template and the hand outline.
Place it on the card, roughly positioning it in the center. You’ll get the feeling of how much “excess” hand you need to cut off.
Cut out the “extra” paper.
Fold the card in half, along the dashed line.
Apply the glue on the palm area as well as across the thumb area.
Glue the hand outline on the card base.
Add a bit of glue on the tip of the index finger, bend the finger and stick it to the palm.
Repeat with all other fingers.
You’ve got yourself a thumbs up!
All done!
All there is left to do is to write an even more awesome message inside your Father’s Day Thumbs Up Card and well, to give it to the best dad in the world.
